Short answers to common questions people have when they are thinking about getting support.

How do I know if I need counselling?

If you are experiencing persistent stress, anxiety, anger, sadness, relationship problems, or difficulty functioning in daily life, counselling can help. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from therapy.

Is online counselling effective?

Yes. Research consistently shows that virtual therapy is effective for many common mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.

What if I cannot afford counselling?

Options may include NIHB coverage if eligible, workplace EAP programs, NL Health Services, Doorways clinics, and peer or community support programs such as Lifewise and the Provincial Warmline.
